Grey Partridge

The noblest small game of Hungarian hunting culture, a symbol of elegance and speed. This exceptionally alert and explosive bird is the crown jewel of classic gundog hunting. It is considered a true curiosity among our foreign guests, as the endurance and swift flight of the Hungarian partridge present a world-renowned professional challenge to hunters.

Red-legged Partridge

Known for its dynamism and enduring flight, this species adds a unique flair to the hunt. It often favors swift, low, and unpredictable flight over escaping on foot. Its sporting value is outstanding, making it one of the most sought-after target species among international elite hunting circles, guaranteeing exciting shooting opportunities and continuous action.

Pheasant

The colorful pheasant is an essential protagonist of rough shooting, setting the tone of the hunting day with its majestic appearance and distinctive call. It is excellent for observing gundog work, as its sudden flush from the thicket and steep ascent test the hunter's concentration and reflexes every time.

Professional game management has been practiced on our grounds for over 150 years, with environmental responsibility and species conservation at its heart today. Through our activities, we actively contribute to the preservation of biodiversity: by regularly releasing fresh stock, we directly prevent the decline of the Grey Partridge population in the region. In doing so, we not only ensure the quality of the hunting experience but also provide a habitat and the opportunity for the birds to mate and breed naturally, supporting the long-term survival of this noble species.

What can you expect when participating in a small game hunt organized by Turul-Vadfarm?

The hunting morning starts with a shared, hearty breakfast at the hunting lodge, where we lay the foundation for the day. It is well worth starting with a full stomach, as plenty of walking awaits us throughout the day, making the hunting experience even more enjoyable.

After a brief overview of the safety regulations, we head out together to the hunting grounds, which remain easily accessible even in muddy conditions. The abundance of game and the birds' swift flight capabilities are the results of years of careful game management and continuous bird releases throughout the season. In designing both the terrain and the aviaries, our goal was to provide the most optimal living conditions for the game.

At the conclusion of the hunt, our hunt master formally pays tribute to the harvested game during the traditional tableau. The harvested game is entirely at our guests' disposal. Upon request, a late, hearty lunch can be enjoyed at a nearby restaurant, ensuring that the day concludes as worthily and memorably as it began.

How is the pricing structured?

Our prices are based on the number of birds released, as the final bag size largely depends on the shooting skills of the hunters. For those who rarely hunt small game, we recommend practicing clay pigeon shooting beforehand to maximize the enjoyment of the hunting experience.
